Mozart's Requiem Returns
The stunning and monumental final work of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is being revived this spring across the United States. The composer began the work in 1791 but left it unfinished upon his untimely death, where it fell to Franz Xaver Sssmayr to complete the Requiem. The piece will be performed in its full grandeur and will be accompanied by further compositions by poignant symphonists.
Mozart was born in Salzburg in 1756 and began composing his own work at the young age of five, completing his first symphony when he was only eight years old. He went on to write hundreds of works and is still known as one of the finest composers of all time. Some believe that Mozart wrote the Requiem with his own funeral in mind.
