The return of this stimulating company
The Eifman Ballet returns with this evocative piece inspired by Mozart's final unfinished masterpiece. A musical mystery, Requiem is as haunting and stunning as the stories that surround its completion, most famously that the ailing composer came to believe he was writing the thing for his own funeral. Once more the company, under the direction of founder Boris Eifman, kick an electrifying display of talent, beauty and innovation into a traditional work.
The young Eifman created his own ballet company in 1977, with the goal of solely performing his own work. It has become famous for its innovative and unabashedly radical approach to the art form, often drawing inspiration from classical literature and theatre - past ballets have included The Seagull, Twelfth Night and many more enchanting and moving works.
