AN AMAZING SHOW

Thank you to all the artists for such a amazing performance. It was 2 hour show, my 7y.o and 3 y.o had so much fun. Our family had great time. Seats are comfortable. I highly recommend them. Thank you again.

AMAZING TALENT

We loved seeing Volta last Saturday afternoon. It was our first Cirque du Soleil show. The were amazing! The cast performed with athleticism, grace, and percision. Because the venue is small and built around the circular stage, the view was up close and personal. We are hooked and cannot wait to see them again. A class act from setup to performance. Bravo! Topped off the night with dinner at Season's 52 in KoP.

WHAT AN AWESOME PERFORMANCE.

This was my first time seeing Cirque Du Soleil. I could not have chosen a better performance than Volta. The energy of the performers, the lover of their trade shines through with every move on stage. The girl on the roller skates an added treat. I can't wait for you to come to Chicago. I am now a HUGE fan.

VOLTA TORONTO

The show was fantastic with so much talent and imagination packed into one show. Would highly recommend it if you like high energy shows!

MUH

OK... some good bits. The "Clown" just was not funny and way too long. Overall I thought the show was just about OK but considering we paid around 600 dollars for the night when you add everything up, it was way too expensive for a very mediocre show. I last say CDS in London a few years ago and it was way better and more exciting than this rather dull show.

NOT AS GREAT AS IN PAST YEARS

I was entertained and had a few wow moments but in all me and my party agreed ... It wasn’t as good as past years. It was well under the level of the cirque du soleil reputation. I’ve been the last 5 times to sf showes and by far the worst. It had a hand full of so so showes. Usually more jaw dropping performances

THE MAGIC IS GONE

Cirques magic used to begin the moment you set inside the tent. Members of the cast walking around the aisles, clowns working the crowd and performing on the stage, elaborate and beautiful staging with surprises around each corner, objects appearing and disappearing. It was decadent and fantastical and felt like no expense had been spared to create a world of illusion, enchantment, and excitement. Times have changed. Why? We did some research...the majority founder of the company sold most of his shares to an investment firm in 2017. It explains why this feels like a paired down version of what used to be Cirquel. A few terrific acrobatic displays including jumping through stacked rings and a thrilling trampoline act, and a wonderful solo clown act, doesn't make up for boring baton twirling, a BMX display you could see on YouTube, and multiple acts with people swinging in the air on various apparatus. The cast always playing their parts with vigor and joy, can't make up for cutbacks.

IT WAS OK

Was unimpressed with the beginning and some of the performances. I think I was more irritated because I was sitting on the floor (no incline) almost below the stage and could barely see well. I also had someone kicking through the opening of my chair for the first half of the show. The costumes were just ok. I've been to many shows and this was my least favorite only because of the beginning and my frustration with the seats and view. Will say that I did love the acrobats and their energy-they made the show. I loved the main character and his solo scene too..was great. The bikers scene was cool. Loved the solo woman hanging from her hair. The double dutch scene was ok as well as the ladder scene and the guy with the laundry scene was just ok. The bungee scene was just ok too. I just expected a little more for what we pay. The bike and ballerina scene was nice...felt like it was missing something though. Hated my seats. Recommend sitting higher up. Don't sit low to stage

PERSONALLY CONFLICTED ABOUT HOW TO RATE VOLTA:

Went with my boyfriend, we've seen other Cirque shows & this was by far our least-favorite. Good for kids, if you've never seen another Cirque or if you've never done gymnastics. Positives: eye catching costumes acts were clean & precise, I appreciate the practice they put in. i really enjoyed the woman who starts off in lotus position as her act was both beautiful & unique (you'll know who I mean, if you see the show) as well as maybe 2 others. Negatives: too many to list all: 1st act was double dutch in costume. Found the moves less difficult then kids I've seen on the sidewalk [excepting only 2 moves]. Tricks you can see many talented/active kids do, such as basic bike tricks. The 2 women on bungees doing flips I myself have done; even my boyfriend who's never bungee'd was unimpressed, it felt like a time filler. A lot of it felt like time filler. Story line not solidly resolved. Many blasé acts: [such as spinning from a ladder(!?) and that's it] Final rating: disappointing

UHHHH.....

Man! What a let down. We've seen at least 5 exciting and spare no thrills Cirque Du Soleil shows. This one....dull, anti-climatic. As mentioned, we could see bikers on You-tube, go to a high school football game to see batons twirling...but to pay a hefty price for what they presented, disappointing. Many it was a good think it was a short program, I was yawning.

DISAPPOINTING PROGRAM

My 5th time and my last attending Cirque. The show was way below expectation. I took my family and was expecting them to be awed, as I was, by previous shows. When a show leaves out several acts, gives no explanation, and the second act,20 minutes, just ends no one seemed satisfied. Is that all there is seemed a common reaction from the audience members as we left the tent. Some great acts as always but not enough to make up for the overall lack substance.

THE HEADLINING ACTS WERE MISSING

We decided to splurge and take our sons to see Volta. In particular they were exciting to see the vaunted and much-advertised grand finale which featuring BMX bikers riding ramps onstage. So we went and watched the very short show (less then two hours total), and then the lights came on, ending the show. No grand finale. Looking back, we realized that a number of the other acts that were advertised (i.e. Danila Bim doing hair acrobatics) also did not perform. So we left with two disappointed kids claiming (rightfully) that the show was a rip-off. Subsequently we read that one of the BMX riders was injured awhile back, so maybe that's why the act was canceled? But not informing the audience that its star performance is canceled is grossly irresponsible. And what of the other well-publicized but missing acts? I gave two stars because there still were some stunning performances. But overall, our very expensive outing was soured.

VOLTA @ DODGER STADIUM

I have been to at least 10 Cirque shows and this is the first one that I felt was sub-par. There were a few moments that dazzle but the comedic elements that appear sporadically fell flat as the audience wasn’t laughing and looked around as if to say when are we getting back to the show. There is an energy that is uplifting and exciting that I didn’t feel for the first time.

SUB STANDARD SOUL-LESS STREET PERFORMANCE MASQUARADING AS ART

I've been a fan of Cirque over 12 years (allegria stands out as the pinnacle of what they SHOULD represent: soulful, timeless story telling spell-binding with physical and emotional wonders). I convinced 2 of my friends to do VIP. what a rip off.. ZERO insights (as other VIP) to costumes or decor/props of the show (what am I paying vip for?) and the show itself was gross, ugly, lacklustre and SOUL LESS. Written by people who don't understand art NOR sports... what a waste! Customer service did NOT refund anything thus far after I wrote them a very earnest and fair letter expressing sadness and dismay. After a week waiting, it's time to post the truth. Cirque has LOST ITS MAGIC.

1.0 star rating Christie from Los Angeles, California

DISAPPOINTED

I’ve been to many Cirques. VOLTA has lousy costumes no fancy makeup that I could see. Average acrobats. Not worth the money or time.
